Was this shell collected by a passionate collector that wakes up early in the morning to make it to the beach before anyone else and catch the low tide?

Or was a mollusk dredged off the sea floor and then harvested for its shell. “Evicted from its home so that it can now live in mine?”

If the answer is not clear it is best to pass.
